At 6am this morning, the GISTNU team and the MCL team met to take a minibus to Lampang, all looking rather sleepy. Three and a half hours later, after breakfast and coffee, we were fully awake in the conference room of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand discussing the requirements for an iPad application for geological surveys at Maemoh Mine.
After a detailed explanation on the importance of strike and dip, bedding and faults, we headed out into the mine by 4×4, carry hard hats and some very expensive GPS equipment. Here we were able to experience the work of geologists, and learn about how mobile technology could help in the future. Now we have a big challenge ahead of us!
