Three computer science students, Somjintana Korbut, Apinya Konggrud and Panida Keaokhrong, reached the finals of the Google Cloud Developer Challenge 2013 with their mobile web app Fix The Road. They were the only team from Thailand to reach the last 10 in their category — well done!
“Fix the Road” is a mobile web application for reporting problems on Thailand’s roads. When a person finds a problem on the road (e.g. bad surface, potholes, no road lines, etc), they can open the web app on their smartphone to report the issue. Users can take a photo, mark the location on a map, select the type of problem and leave a comment. After uploading, all the problems are shown on the map and a user can view problems by each area.
